Recipe Book

The best kind of Recipe Books are the ones that have been passed down through generations, with turned up edges, enthusiastically spilt dollops of sauce marking the pages, little notes about secret ingredients falling out from the spine and a very frayed string bookmark. We have a book just like this, full of Muriel’s many creations and family favourites, which we use as inspiration for our monthly menus and delicious desserts.

It’s a little tricky to share the original with you so we’ve put together this virtual Recipe book that’s much easier to read (no loopy handwriting!) and without any pages sticking together.

We’d love you to tweet or post us pictures of how you get on in the Kitchen…

Happy Cooking!

Dark Chocolate Mince Pies

Makes 6 Minced Pies

  • Pinch of salt
  • Egg yolk 1
  • Icing sugar 36g
  • Unsalted butter 60g
  • Plain flour 100g

Preheat the oven to 180C. Measure out the pastry ingredients into a mixing bowl, and mix altogether. Wrap the pastry mix in cling film and place it in the fridge to rest for at least 30 mins. Roll out the pastry into the baking mould and spoon the ready made mincemeat into the individual moulds. Cut out a star shape and place it on top as a lid to each pie. Bake for 15 mins. Delicious!
